Patients' rights

Patients' rights

All patients of the Montreal Children's Hospital have the right to expect quality treatment and care. Patients' rights and corresponding responsibilities are found in the Code of Ethics available at Admitting.

The code is in accordance with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Civil Code of Quebec and the Law on Health and Social Services.

It is based on the principles of Mutual Respect, Privacy, Security, Open Communication, Confidentiality, and Informed Care and Treatment Decisions. In keeping with this code of ethics, the MCH community strives to meet patients' and families' expectations of quality care and services within our available human, material and financial resources.
