Mission statement

Mandate

To provide a cohesive, coordinated interdisciplinary program for all trauma, integrating all surgical, medical, nursing, allied health and other specialties, which supports: patient and family focused, outcome-oriented care; clinical and academic teaching; research; injury prevention; quality assurance; advocacy and assumes a leadership role in the local, regional and provincial trauma network.

Mission

  • To assist patients and their families to understand the impact of the injury and adjust to the new situation
  • To help children achieve their maximum functional potential during the early stages of recovery
  • To provide coordinated patient-focused care in conjunction with other institutions in the healthcare consortium in order to assure continuum of care
  • To provide academic teaching and clinical training
  • To carry out and collaborate in research
  • To monitor trends and develop strategies for targeted injury prevention, public awareness, advocacy and lobbying
  • To promote health through the prevention of injuries
  • To be available as a community resource and work with others sharing a common goal to advocate for the needs of the children and teens of Quebec
  • To maintain a high level of trauma expertise
  • To develop partnerships throughout the trauma continuum of care and the network
  • To participate in the provincial trauma network and play a leadership role in pediatric and adolescent trauma care and injury prevention
